The smallest, and only one that doesn’t look like it’s about to die. I have another one that is really big, and quite frankly it scares me. The middle part is almost as big as my face, and it’s always filled with grasshoppers and bees. Wish my padre had chosen somewhere better! These were planted in a really bad spot in my backyard, because it only gets sun a few hours in the morning and they’re in the shade the rest of the day, thanks to awkward positioning and a neighbour’s hedge.

Emotions gon’ wild. All my TV watching tears are excellent, but tonight I shed my most excellent tears for a show that has entertained me every single week for the longest time. I embraced every single cliché they threw at us; the slow-motion, the memory montages, the soul-swelling indie songs. Holy hell you guys, Sarah and Chuck are probably the only TV couple (apart from Lily and Marshall) that I really really love. I actually liked how they ended it because it was unexpected. It astounds me that none of my friends watch/like this show. C’mon c’mon, get on it.

I just finished season 2 and am going to download season 3 this weekend. This show is so good, oh my god. Also, today I was walking down Queen st (wearing my LFC jersey – 2011/2012 away kit) and me and this other guy (also wearing his LFC jersey – 2011/2012 third kit) high fived when we walked past each other. It was glorious. (It was actually really weird, but we were too drunk on victory to have regrets).

 I wasn’t a fan of the ‘we’re a culture, not a costume’ campaign that was going around last year. But I really appreciate this one. I think it’s excellent to emphasise the importance of looking out for your friends. In a society that teaches girls ‘don’t dress slutty, you’ll get raped’, rather than teach men that it’s not okay to rape women, this is really important.

The movie This is England was released a long time ago, but I only got around to watching it recently. Naturally, I had to start watching the mini-series as well, which take place in ’86 and ’88 respectively. This entire series is so good. I have yet to watch the ’88 episodes, but I expect it to be quality. I recommend it to anyone! However, it is violent, and ’86 does have a really, really, awful rape scene that seems to linger on for too long.

Received this book as a Christmas present. And yes, Joshua Foer is the brother of Jonathan Safran Foer (who if you know me, needs no introduction). It’s a non-fiction book about a journalist who trains his memory for a year and then goes on to win the US Memory Championship. That’s the gist, the content is much more interesting, particularly if you’re interested in memory and/or neuro. I am only half way through but I picked it up earlier today and found it hard to put down.
